Emotional Freedom Technique is a simple acupressure technique for releasing negative feelings.

You feel negative feelings in the body, so you have to go to the body to work on them.

You can release a negative feeling right now with this video. Tapping is very effective on helping with Depression, but bear in mind you may need to do a lot of tapping to become completely happy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How hard should I tap?
A: Tap lightly, just so that you feel it. The purpose of the tapping is to bring your attention to different parts of your body, it actually works if you just imagine tapping - as long as your attention is drawn to the right points.

Q: How can I be sure I am finding the right points?
A: Use two fingers to make sure you cover the points. Sometimes the point will ‘feel’ right, as if there is a slight indent in the skin or the point is particularly sensitive. It’s all connected so you don’t have to be 100% accurate.

Q: You have missed out points that Gary Craig teaches!
A: Yes. Feel free to tap those too, I left them out to keep the video simple and it seems to work fine without them. If you find the video doesn’t work for you, try tapping the additional points - around the top-middle of the head, and just under the armpit.

Q: Is the sequence important?
A: No. You can tap the points in any order. In fact you only need to tap one or two of the points for each particular feeling. It’s just you have no easy way to know which point so you might as well tap them all.

Q: I am a skeptic! / You are a charlatan!
A: Thanks. Tapping is perfectly explainable scientifically but it does go beyond most people’s understanding. It really does work though, and the best way to prove that to yourself is to try it and watch your negative feelings disappear.

For more info see the Introductory video which gives a bit more explanation:

Also this video shows use of an electro-acupuncture pen to show that the points have a different electrical resistence to other parts of the body:

You know how you feel butterflies in your stomach when you are nervous, or maybe shoulder tension when you are stressed? It’s the same thing.

You can tap the being ‘disconnected’, it just means there are feelings stopping you feel the other feelings.

Persevere, a good therapist will have plenty of ways round not being able to feel where things are at first.

this made me feel noticably better and almost was a bit euphoric. however i doubt itll last long. and when im in the depressed mood, 23 hours a day, im in no condition to make myself do this. soo idk. but like, its totally worth it make no mistake. its hard to remember to do this when the thing that makes you think is broken due to depression. do your best. best of luck guyz.

I had this kind of therapy … well, the therapist kept asking me if and where I felt tension in my body …

I don’t know, am I disconnected or something? I usually don’t really know (really don’t know) ‘where’ I feel something…

Don’t know if this tapping works for me, because the ‘where do you feel it’ part got me confused :P
Can’t help but to wonder why many people seem to feel emotions with/in their bodies, and I don’t, or am I just not paying enough attention or what?

i’ve only watched this video once so far… only done the exercise once so far.

I truly feel better. I was sorta feeling down, like i always do, particularly around my face and head area. I started with a rating of 7.. finished with a 4. I do feel this helped me. thank you.

To get rid of depression combine EFT and change your diet. Kick out sugar and caffeine.

Ok I gotta write this coz i’m just as surprised and shocked that this actually worked. I’ve been feeling down tonight and have read bt EFt, i even got the manuel but never did it on a full round. I followed this guy’s tapping round ( although some meridans are left out) and bang once I was on my way to doing the karate chops (fingers) i just felt light around my heart. Its felt so weird but I could breath better.
MANn i’m so excited that there is something out there that can actually work..

I only did about half the video, but it did get me to cry and I feel calmer now. All my problems are still there, but I just feel more relaxed about them.
