I think I’m beginning to understand that leniency, sympathy and connection are really what those songs are about, the one of sad musicians. This is what makes them pleasant and beautiful. I’m starting to see where harmony comes into the picture in connection with the healthy and precise Virgo. Whichever way we lean, the benefic traits of the other sign suffers. I really, really like stuff. It’s enlightening!

What is it when someone is so continually depressed that they enjoy their sadness? Like some musicians who sound genuinely yet pleasantly sad. I believe the characteristics of the Pisces are similar to this but I’m not sure exactly if it is, and if so how and if it’s healthy.

    Happy birthstar day, Datta!

When I was depressed, I found that my best “cure” was to do seva and to help others. The more I served, the more happy I got and while I did seva, I forgot about all my issues… the depression was non-existent!

What also helped me was yoga, being in nature, singing bhajans, being in Your presence and being in front of Hindu and Buddhist statues/deities.

Thanks for giving me the tools to lift me out of the depression state!

I think of depression this way, if our mind can put depressive feeling in our mind, it’s also capable of putting the opposite ( happy) feelings. All we have to do is search within. All answers are right within our mind.

Beloved Datta, thank you for this video! I know from hard-fought personal experience that quieting the mind (by meditation or chanting) is a powerful tool against my bipolar condition. Do you have a comment on the need for medication in cases of biochemically based depression? For me personally, both tools have been very useful and equally necessary.

Datta, thank you so much for this video! It was the thing that has been bugging me lately!

Searching for happyness in the external, then to realize this only offers short emotional rewards. And someone becomes unhappy, because emotions are not solid. People who find the bliss always finds it within; in this void or unifield. Depression vs bliss then is a choice.
